News Flash 09/12/28
The last appearance this year is behind us. The Christmas program "for all time ..." had its second performance on Christmas Eve in the Castle Church City dwellers. A brief report and more pictures, see "Live".
our "Picture of the Week" has now existed more than four years since mid-2005. With this week's issue # 241 243 pictures were presented (in issues # 46 and # 106 there were two) and thought about it replaced. As the interest in it waned significantly over time - which may have also partially located in the photos shown - will take place at the start of the new year a change. From January 2010 there will "only" a "picture of the month" type. Thus the number of selected photos is reduced by a multiple, so that hopefully a total of more interesting material made available and the participation in the column can be increased.

Cheesy Sayings About Love
and pictures of the performance of "For all time ..." in the town church Burgstädt (24/12/2009)
As in the last concert report indicated, inter alia, a time of Christmas traditions and their care. For band and choir, this means every year on Christmas Eve for the design of the 3rd Christmas Vespers in the parish castle dwellers to be responsible. The last exception dates back to 1997, where we had rehearsed a Christmas program. The performance of "For all time ..." was therefore in a long series of similar concerts. A special feature was
However this year. In addition to the actual program, the organ accompaniment was taken over by someone in the band ranks. Our-budgetary drummer Keith, with "For all time ..." responsible on the guitar and the piano and active for song and text selection, could still intone the traditional "O Happy". Remains for next year "only" make even the sermon itself ;-). Which was currently held in routine manner by the Rev. juice as the first part of Vespers before our program was the main part. Some stakes wobbled slightly, otherwise the many guests present was able to be offered by a strong performance, the atmospheric in the evening of Holy initiated.

Important Message - Blog readers know first!
Whether I have any readers after months of my absence? Anyway, I tell it here and not yet on Facebook: I have a new roommate! And although in less than eight weeks, namely the here. Looks even nicer in real life from. Has the same ring tone that I had on my favorite mobile phone, before it gave up the ghost: Locomotive Breath fact. Finally a roommate, who also studied. And older than me - that was also previously never before.
PS: I just see the summer term he gives a lecture with the title exciting new nations - ancient rituals. Alternative religious movements from the Enlightenment to the present - whether he likes me suffer when I listen to the go? ;)

Why Do You Sneeze More When Sick
report from the premiere of "For all time ..." in the ECG Burgstädt (13.12.09)
Following tradition, was the opening of the Adora-Christmas concert season again in the rooms the Evangelical Kirchl. Community Burgstädt instead. Set on as a district service, met about 70 castle towns, and guests to Röhrsdorfer "For all time ..." , this year's program.
served as artistic director for the first time Ken Arnold, apparently with their compilation of songs and lyrics struck a chord and the expectation of the audience. After the best-of-program the previous year stood next to songs by the resident composer Jörg and Andreas Börner Munke a number of pieces of different eras and styles. They range from the traditional community-hit ("What a Friend We Have in Jesus") and gospel ("Go, tell It on the Mountain ") to the praise-oriented" New Song "(" Jesus is our savior "). If the preparations are still by many barriers (shift work, overshadowed common cold, etc.), succeeded yet (even the traditional), premiered a good performance to get. Driven by the good news of Christmas agreed with both voice and charisma, which has been confirmed in numerous interviews after the concert. The next performance will take place on Christmas Eve 17:30 clock instead of the third Christmas Vespers in the Stadkirche Burgstädt.

I've just returned from the craziest show: It did Baba Zula in the house of literature, and that too with free admission. I knew vaguely that it would be, what Steam, but that I had certainly not yet calculated.
Youtube is not just the overall impression. Imagine the whole twice as loud and as wild before: Musical quasi Mongol invasion. Wow.
Shortly after the 'income during this number I felt like striking at the beginning of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", remembers where did the grumpy foreman at the breakpoint of Arthur's house always enigmatic desert steppe visions, because, without it to know, is a descendant of Genghis Khan. Wow, tonight I'm pretty been reminded of my wild nomadic genes.

is now more choice in terms of election-
gave it a cute mirror online survey where you could express his desire coalition. Not that it would affect anything, but as of this morning but I was surprised: Although not many people wanted a continuation of the grand coalition (not that I have knowledge about how popular that has been four years ago), but it were going at least as many people red-red-green, have argued for such black-yellow!
(source)
When the votes for "prefer a different coalition," just are disregarded, then it is clear from this survey, that more people voted for a government without CDU than a government without SPD. Not that this is a representative survey, but I would still like to know if the contact-no-black-group is only on the mirror site in the majority, or whether all the way to the polling station have not been found.
Actually, I find the concept of compulsory voting very interesting.
And then, a word on color:
The ARD is the left pink or magenta or something, at the left mirror is more purple. The CSU is light blue. How cute!
Who decides such a thing? Now was as red for the left, already occupied, but between pink and purple is indeed again a difference, not least in the image. Search yourself and see which is the one medium is sloppy? Is this all a random convention and because the Left is so fresh, you have not yet been agreed? And anyway, cute light blue for the CSU (who would see a parallel with Austria's blue?) - How does it work?
And another thing, because yesterday we found our discovery of so astute (and no unauthorized person is reading this anyway): We have noticed that we probably randgruppigste, undiskriminierendste and are likely to get politically correct conservative government in the world: A woman, a gay man, and a paraplegic - that's soon as the occupation of the linden street!

Best Settler's Strategy
Oh kids, what should that mean? If you would not want me hopeful again may come back to Germany, you had the simple but can say - but there was no need to rush like the whole country for another 4 years to the conservative unhappiness ... Yuck!
And if it now has really, really black and yellow must be - perhaps it would be out without the least fascist Mr. S., the insane Super Nanny and the neo-liberal Cheshire Cat?

nerdy Regulatory Update
Now I can not even hear from me for a while. Why not? Because I have not done so much copy steal data except for the Diss zusammenzu and go from time to time with nice people for a drink. But because I still feel the need to report to me again, I tell you now from the unexciting, but it deeply nerdy things I have come across but would end up with this: First,
I'm starting starting with a tip at Dork Tower to read between the Internet forums for the work of Webcomics, the big discovery here was Weregeek , and when I order by was (unfortunately), I am, after further " fabric looked around a bit "and revamped classics such as the one hand xkcd , and the other a few new things being looked at.
Secondly, I have a totally new house ökogeekiges "animal", namely a Kefir .
Thirdly my life as a nerd on Monday towards a new high point, because a dream I have cherished roughly half my life is going to finally come true: I try it once with Pen & Paper RPGs . Is "only" DSA, but like so. , P start What else but a classic? Moreover, it is probably simply the first RPG, of whose existence I knew it was the coolness namely in the toy department.
(good grief, I can not believe that there are how many years after their defeat nor Google results for Cool. The Internet forgets really nothing!)
Sun, and where I have now so much talk nerdy stuff that you from reading alone has already grown a horn-rimmed glasses, I had the good nor the final link to a great article that finally satisfactory explains why school suckt, if you're a smart kid: click .

Americana Collection Liberty Falls
I want in the upcoming parliamentary election will not be forgotten, even if I do not live in Germany. And finally, there is now only a month back to the big date, and my postal ballot documents I have, completely on point, already applied for six weeks. That's why I'm the last week, every day excited jumped to the mail box: it is after all what is at stake! Well, because the mailbox has never includes what you want, and I choose again but sooo glad I have today called for local elected office, just to be veeery safe.
And what I found out? No reason to worry: the ballots are only from 3.9. sent, and this is still a week out. Why is late in being so? Because they have this weekend to attend the first local elections.
Yes, I realize and I find important. But now seriously: is not this a bit short, international items four weeks in advance? In the coming time, the letter not only to me, but also safe and timely return. And I suppose yes, that applies not only to Austria in Wuppertal, but also in New Zealand, Namibia and Nicaragua, and since a letter could ever need but a good two weeks and more ...
Well, I hope the best.

Stiff Neck And Lump In Neck
trust in God I won!
Yay! A few Minutes to reach me the message that I or my great new Dissthema are invited to Salzburg in December, on a small presentation at the AG Sex & language in 37th Austrian linguistics conference (link to the workshop a bit further down, especially a lot of info is there but not yet).
is a little clouded my joy by a stupid little misunderstanding with my supervisor, but that can attach itself well when he's back again.
Otherwise, yes, I know. I blog more about my experiences Zeist. But now I first had to arrive safely, the abstract submitted for the above (success!!) and daily operations to resume. Now it can be also!

I'm Looking At Hair Styles
barefoot on the dance floor
Soso, dance also. My ears roar, my four little beer I've sweated almost certainly before hours, and I am psyched. Thus have I
gezappelt much since the legendary Uniparties in Düsseldorf SP-room any more, and felt so well and without restraint, I myself probably never (getting older but what is great!).
adds that I think I never in a "public" place barefoot dancing. Full beautiful.
How funny: when we arrived at the "early" evening in the cellar bar and 5-12 against the first bad songs clearly not fast could ansaufen enough, I went to the DJ and asked him if he could not perhaps a little more rock, or at least play retro more sacred. He said politely did, he regretted that he would quite like to own the yes, but this would not even dance. At this time, no dozen people on the dance floor.
Well, long story short: two hours later (after I Bamboleo, Macarena and La Bamba endure) he is playing Nirvana. Three hours later, he played Clash and the Beatles (Twist and Shout has yet simple), and the final sprint, he puts me on it even Van Halen and Depeche Mode. The dance floor is, of course, all the time packed. But yes no one is dancing to rock. : P

Here it is so cool. But for sheer program I am of course not. For even if we have no classes, there is still enough trips, projects, films, or just homework that keep pretty busy. Now I'm almost a week here, and I was not in the hotel's bar Well, that will change today but probably because there is still all kinds of dance . * Cough *
Yesterday I discovered something completely cool, namely the oldest escalator, with whom I've ever driven:
The piece is in Rotterdam, brings people into the Maastunnel and is probably teilweise deutsche Wertarbeit, weil 1942 eingeweiht.
I'm probably a girl (or just simply a good Calvinist ...; p)!

I'm in Zeist, and it is full of wonderful!
... and that's about as much as I can tell you here and now, for it to do too much. :) Anyway, I have a room all to myself, and there is wireless, so I can hopefully times more often crumble into the Internet. Yesterday we had
after we arrived safely and have got a little something for lunch (including ubiquitous cheese bread: D), just once a placement test, and this morning it was the result. I'm on level 7 of 12, ie just over half. And since I I am also quite proud of it, after all I've learned almost a year in Dutch, and by the way, and there are also people who have the right as the last three or four years UNIFACH. In any event, Group 7 - our teacher is the local linguist, so I've probably made quite well. Except that we got directly homework. And then I'm going to do now sometimes. Kijk dead!
(Oh yes, would anyone feel the desire to call me.. I am in room 224 and you have to probably be put through to the reception desk, the +31 343/492492 If neither just nor evening program courses are then I'm there.))

Kawasaki Mule Wont Run
Austrian geography, heavy geography?
Last night, the storm caused by the issues of the day Disaster warning in Graz reported. But I could swear that they have spoken in the context of Graz, the capital of Carinthia . (Graz course, is the capital of Styria, and Klagenfurt is the capital of Carinthia;. More here )
Unfortunately, I could no longer verify, because the stream of the ARD message, the corresponding contribution was cut out without comment, Tom Buhrow announces the recordings on to, and after that it goes smoothly with the CSU. And now that I would like them linked, there is still this morning to the whole and individually hiding place review of all nowhere on the homepage . Oh great. Fortunately, he was still in the History: rapidly clicking here while he is still there! , P (? But alas, the suspect set is also not ... we have it imagined us or was he really never there)
But this adorable little case of dubious Austria knowledge is not even the only one: just was in one of these poor immigrants and foreign-adventure shows on Vox talk of a young girl from Germany who travels to Austria in order to compete for a job in a hotel. The voiceover announced, it was up to Seefeld in Tirol , while blinded to a place very far to the northeast on the map of Austria:
wait, that's not Tirol! A little Internet research clarifies the puzzle at once: in Lower Austria, there is still a Seefeld , and the intern who was allowed to create the card for the show has caught accidentally. Oh great. But we have broken all laughed sooo when CNN has moved to Switzerland to the Czech Republic at that time, right? : P
No, I will not say we would have to know all of us in Austria. I just think you are an editor of television programs, it now (mE) Germany's most prestigious news or entertaining drivel on commercial TV, some may have to search.
And if the ARD is, then you could simply stand by his mistakes ...
We still remember this pretty "Germany flag, right?
... and the pay off is not implied from the online version, as happened in the previous case.

Oh great: there is now really for the first time in one week of good weather, and of course we have directly taken great care to our long pent-up desires for visit-the-ice-cream parlor, food from the grill, in the Garden seats and to satisfy in-the-sun-coffee-slurping. What we have also managed and was really fabulous. The only stupid: I've drawn a tasty sunburn. I'm actually, in July and especially after the nice hot spring, I would be tanned enough and virtually immune, but my cleavage is still clearly disagree. Ouch.
was otherwise the surprising highlight of the short trip "to town" (in Wuppertal, which means classically "to Elberfeld" - fortunately I could to my knowledge no readership of Barmen, which I resent that now) and I am delighted by the very positive development that has taken the city since my last visit. There is one part of the long-planned and now at last and concretized in the pipeline reconstruction of the station forecourt that is a wonderful new goal is to become the city (and make the horrible Gammel tunnel finally over), which we have been in the information kiosk very friendly and explained enthusiastically.
(It ignores the bad gephotoshoppten passer at all, and the live model was really impressive.)
On the other hand, in the pedestrian zone, one or the other comparatively attractive business to come to some shops have been totally rebuilt, and in general no longer sees much so cheap and nasty like even last year.
Maybe someday we can but live again with pride in Wuppertal. Perhaps falls the time together and even in some meaningful with my life center planning.

Printer Running Costs
If all else
Today was my first time in a few years back in the great and almost-all-to-do Düsseldorf University and State Library . There I was last an article for my-copy ever plain paper (although I had actually planned to still quickly finish before my departure for Germany, is it, of course, nothing came - was so clear), and you can say, I knew exactly what I was looking but fairly, and where I would find it. The signature I could already out before searching the Internet, the sites I know after years of study quite sure by heart, and I have copied in my life enough, so one should think that the whole would have been no great challenge. That it then everything was not so easy, has to do with the fact that things have changed in the last few years quite a bit.
are first I have noticed some changes on campus: the University of ponds, where else has every year, hatched a swan family (which has its head also demolished ever car rear view mirror), is almost silted up, a piece next to it is a great site full of excavators and other heavy equipment, heaven knows what is produced there.
Inside the UB then has also been cleaned up: the many display cases, earlier in which cute (and rarely interesting, if I may say so) changing exhibitions on library issues have been shown, have disappeared, and otherwise is the front part of the foyer quite emptied. There was in the back of the lockers with the more full: so full that was to get hold on a hot Sunday afternoon, not a single free trade more. I would be on the verge been thereat break in despair, I had not just been with great surprise a busy young man, including backpacking through the barrier, also on Sunday watched by a stern gatekeeper go-see - something that previously have been totally unthinkable would be: a piece of luggage larger than a pencil case one is in there never came. But whether it's on the comprehensive safety magnet of all the books or the needs of students, laptop bags to carry with you is, on closer observation today, almost one penetrated with a big bag into the holy of holies, and I consequently (though I am so expected a 2 Euro coin had packed for safe!).
That would have been surprising enough, but the real shock was before me at the copier. After 12 years from baseline (yes, * ouch *), including several years as a slave copy student assistant, and with a (sadly lost) best friend with experience in a famous Japanese copier company, I actually thought that something as simple as I expand directory, put-on-the-slice-and-get-out deductions would actually have to manage. And while playing, to be honest. But no.
minutes I have pondered over an error message, according to which could see the stupid thing not original, although the book open completely obvious and ready to scan on the disc was. And while in the upper left corner of the window as yet on any copier that I have ever seen. After a while, and a slowly rising tide of panic a lot to me then in the upper right corner of the window to an icon ... and then the proverbial Scales from the eyes. Okay, create this freaky copier must be the templates upper right . Although I have never seen before, but if one's once white, then of course it works just as well, and the copy will be nothing in the way of success. Until then, I got the odd bit of adrenaline wasted. Phew!
the way home, then I've been thinking extensively about habits, adaptability, expectations, and the like. And I felt a bit old and stuff. And a bit stupid. Hmph.
Fortunately, the subsequent passage to the best ice cream of the city had already been identified, and handmade ice cream off after all-natural, concentrate free ingredients sees the world a different story. Especially if you are invited for the second time in two days to by someone you love.
* melt *
(sample picture from a visit before last year, apparently with some colder weather, probably shortly after the season opening)
Oh, and because it's so sweet and so funny is, there are also fast the song that of love has just played me (in a fit of manly self-knowledge, perhaps?):
Did I hit it pretty good today, actually. : D

cathepsut I recently her delicious soup photos was added because of my friends list (otherwise there was indeed read lately not so much, and during the Austrian Bookcrossing forum is broken, I just do not know how I should waste my time online - even internet research addiction one can be just as long days drive, p) has posted the following questionnaire. I follow its invitation to introduce myself a little when we now have blog friends of each other.
(my "old" friends can give, of course, any time you put some of the online exhibitionism and me tell you a few factoids about themselves ...)
first Your Middle Name: I am neither Catholic nor Americans, because it is not so common. : P
second Age: 31
third Single or Taken: busy:)
4th Favourite movie: that can be (as well as songs, bands or even books) are not confined to one. But Expressionist silent films are great. And like classic fantasy Labyrinth or Princess Bride . Harold and Maude . Spontaneously and also Taxi Driver, which I saw yesterday for the first time.
5th Favourite Song or Album: As I said, "the one" is certainly not there. The following is a bit of my theme song, and my favorite cell phone ringtone:
6th Favourite Band / Artist Early Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett are great. Other hippie drug music also like Jefferson Airplane. Leonard Cohen. Depeche Mode. The early REM. The doctors are also great, but rather as the more recent than the older, or Jarvis. And of course, The Darkness.
7th Dirty or Clean: One must also get dirty, otherwise the showers afterwards is worth not.
8th Tattoos and / or Piercings: I've never managed to make me think of a tattoo that would please me with 80 or more posts. But I have a piercing in the nose. But my ears are completely lochlos.
9th Do we know each other outside of LJ? Nee.
10th What's your philosophy on life? Oh, that's more gut feeling than fancy catch phrase.
11th Is the bottle half-full or half-empty? half full.
12th Would you keep a secret from me if you thought it was in my best interest? This is now a bit constructed, right?
13th What is your favorite memory of us? Um. Our shared passion for ginger soup?
14th What is your favorite guilty pleasure? I do not feel guilty. >
15th Tell me one odd / interesting fact about you: Hmmm . I'm left-handed. (And think that Gendering is complete Sprachverhunzung.) Is it interesting?
16th You can have three wishes (for yourself, so forget all the 'world peace etc' malarky) - what are they? A secured financial situation, a resolution where my life is conflict, and that my project will be broken off really have no unpleasant after-effects.
17th Can we get together and make a cake? Oh yeah bake!
18th Which country is your spiritual home? I center of life schizophrenia.
19th What is your big weakness? Och ... If I am too optimistic now, to see one, then this is a great weakness?
20th Thu you think I'm a good person? Definitely. I do not know of hardly anyone who is not.
21st What was your best / favorite subject at school? English and trillion
22nd Describe your accent: German? Fairly standard-level, but stamped High German Low Franconian with irritating Styrian strikes. English? Last breathed quite Australian. My so lovingly cultivated Yorkshire vowels are completely in the bucket. : P If I have advised people, I often hear "Holland" or "Sweden", so I'm apparently not a typical film Nazi accent.
23rd If you could change anything about me, would you? you do a little blogging more often? ;)

26th Cigarettes or alcohol? Well, not really, "or". More cigarettes only when alcohol.
27th If I only had one day to live, what would we do together? (If you have no idea, just say something crazy, it'll entertain me!) Okay, why not Bungee Jumping?
28th Will you repost this so I can fill it out for you? Well, now going on but you all there!
